Anne Munroe

Anne prefers to work in a variety of mediums: print, paint, photography, sculpture and needlework. These examples of most recent work are oil on canvas. In these paintings Anne is exploring tension created through colour, shape, and line as well as investigating the materiality of the paint itself such as the effect of layering, thinning and removal of paint. Important themes for her are time, memory and the body. Some influences are her previous career in health care, love of nature and the work of Amy Sillman, Joseph Guston and Richard Diebenkorn.
